Kiani Yasak, the founder of Opihi Maui, creates handcrafted, culturally significant home products, with a focus on hand-painted wooden signs that share messages of aloha and Hawaiian values. What began in 2012 as a passion project using repurposed wood has grown into a thriving business, emphasizing sustainability, authenticity, and the preservation of Hawaiian culture. Alongside running Opihi Maui, Kiani teaches Hawaiian language, drawing inspiration from her students and daily immersion in Hawaiian traditions. With deep family roots in art and a commitment to balancing her roles as a mother and entrepreneur, Kiani’s work continues to inspire others while honoring the past and future of Hawaiian heritage.
