In order for words to bring life and to heal, we must understand their meaning and usage.

• Kuleana - Responsibility, privilege 
• Laulima - Many hands working together

Kahua Hana calls us back to the basics for healthy family and community living. In all we do, we start from the base or foundation of Aloha, of love. Love is something we give and receive. It is reciprocal, but without keeping track. When we live with aloha, we have balance. We demonstrate love and balance in our closest community - our family. Through love and balance, we carry out our responsibilities and privileges that are passed down from one generation to the next. As we each take responsibility for what is ours, we experience the result of many hands working together. We can then take these foundational principles beyond our family, to breathe life and bring healing into our communities.
