Loulu Tea Towel + Sunrise Shell Coasters

 

Founded by artist Palapala (Barbara) Chung, Palapala Designs is a small company based in Maui, Hawaii. Barbara designs and carves original block prints of Hawaiian motifs and subjects, combining them with contemporary form and function. The cotton tea towel depicts a loulu, or native Hawaiian palm, and the 2 drink mats are printed with the sunrise shell, which is a scallop native to Hawai'i, best picked at sunrise. This rare shell was worn by Ali'i (royalty).

These products are made to be both beautiful and functional. Each drink mat features a water-resistant liner to protect against condensation.
